Treatment of chronic hand dermatoses with UVB-TL01.

چکیده
UVB-TL01 is proven to be efficient in whole body treatment for several chronic inflammatory dermatoses. Chronic hand dermatoses of different and often mixed genesis represent a great problem in clinical practice. We have performed a prospective, open study with patients suffering from psoriasis, eczema or pustulosis of the hands treated with hand UVB-TL01. Thirty patients (23 women and 7 men) were included, mean age 43 years (range 25-68 years). The psoriatics were the best responders, as 9 of 11 were improved or much improved after 20-38 treatments, compared to 11 of 16 patients with eczema (11-31 treatments). One of three patients with palmar pustulosis experienced improvement after 23-27 treatments. UVB-TL01 seems to be helpful in the majority of patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the hands. More extensive studies with regard to proper dosing and length of treatment period ought to be carried out.

Psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) soaks and UVB TL01 treatment for chronic hand dermatoses
Chronic eczematous hand dermatoses with and without contact allergies are complex diseases, which makes it a challenge to select the best treatment and obtain an optimal patient experience and a satisfactory treatment result. The aim of this study was to evaluate retrospectively the clinical effect and patient experience of local treatment with psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) soaks and TL01 ...
متن کاملEvaluation of vaseline oil applied prior to UVB TL01 phototherapy in the treatment of psoriasis.
BACKGROUND Use of emollient prior to phototherapy could enhance UV transmission through psoriasis plaques on the condition that the emollient is not photoprotective. Emollient pretreatment with narrow-band phototherapy (313 nm) has not been studied extensively. We conducted a study to assess if vaseline oil prior to UVB TL01, in chronic psoriasis plaques could accelerate psoriasis clearance. ...

C3H mice were irradiated three times a week for up to 6 weeks with either 500 J/m2 or 1000 J/m2 broadband UVB (270-350 nm) or 3000 J/m2 narrowband UVB (311-312 nm; TL01 source). Each dose was suberythemal to the mouse strain used. The number of Langerhans cells (LC) in the epidermis was reduced by over 50% after 2 weeks of irradiation with the UVB source and by 20% following TL01 irradiation. C...
متن کاملBiological effects of narrow-band (311 nm TL01) UVB irradiation: a review.
The narrow-band UVB (TL01) lamp (311 nm emission) was developed for use in phototherapy, as an alternative to a broad-band UVB source and to photochemotherapy, both of which have significant side effects and carry a risk of carcinogenesis. This new lamp has proved to be particularly effective at clearing psoriasis. It is now acknowledged that the TL01 lamp is probably 2-3 times more carcinogeni...
